Have bank statements or cash equivalent to at least $1,000 USD available. Officers rarely ask, but if you look under-prepared they may request proof of sufficient funds.Recommended

Passport Validity Counts from Entry Date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Egypt, not from your departure date. If your passport expires in 5 months, you'll be turned away.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-Visa
Go to the official Egypt e-visa portal (visa2egypt.gov.eg). Fill in your passport details, upload a passport-style photo, and pay the fee (around $25 USD for a single-entry tourist visa). Processing takes 3-7 business days. Print the approval email.
2
Prepare Documents
Before you leave, gather: your printed e-visa, passport (valid 6+ months), return ticket, and first-night hotel booking. Keep copies on your phone as backup.
3
Arrival at Cairo Airport
At Cairo International Airport, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for 'Foreign Passports'. Hand over your passport, printed e-visa, and boarding pass. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel address. Answer clearly. You'll get a stamp and can proceed to baggage claim.
4
Exit and Customs
After passport control, collect your luggage and walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no restricted items. If asked, show your customs form (usually handed out on the plane).
