Vietnamese passport holders can apply for a Turkish e-Visa online, valid for a single entry with a maximum stay of 30 days. The application is completed entirely on the official e-Visa website, and you'll need a passport valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. Once approved, you'll receive an electronic document to present upon arrival in 2026.

RequirementDetailsStatus
Turkey eVisaYou must obtain this visa online before you travel; it cannot be obtained on arrival.

Vietnamese passport holders are eligible for the Turkey eVisa. Apply online at the official Republic of Turkey e-Visa website before departure. The eVisa permits a stay of up to 30 days and is valid for tourism or business purposes. It is not extendable.Required
Passport validityYour passport must remain valid for six months after your planned arrival date.
At least 6 months beyond your stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Turkey. Ensure your passport does not expire before 2027-02-07 if you plan to enter on 2026-08-07.Required
Blank passport pagesBorder officers need a blank page to stamp your passport when you enter Turkey.
At least 1 blank page
Your passport must have at least one blank page for the entry stamp. It is recommended to have more than one blank page to avoid issues at border control.Required
Return or onward ticketHave a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight reservation ready.
Proof of departure
You must be able to show a return or onward flight ticket proving you will leave Turkey before your 30-day eVisa expires. This is commonly requested at check-in and border control.Required
Proof of fundsCarry a bank statement or credit card to demonstrate you can support yourself during your visit.
Sufficient financial means
You may be asked to show evidence of sufficient funds for your stay in Turkey. This can include cash, credit cards, or bank statements. There is no fixed amount, but you should be able to cover accommodation and living expenses for up to 30 days.Recommended
Travel health insuranceMedical treatment abroad can be expensive; insurance protects you from high bills.
Recommended for medical coverage
While not mandatory for the eVisa, travel health insurance is strongly recommended to cover any medical emergencies or unexpected healthcare costs during your stay in Turkey.Recommended
Arrival declarationYou can proceed directly through passport control without filling out an arrival form.
Not required
No arrival declaration or customs form is required for Vietnamese passport holders entering Turkey for tourism. You do not need to complete any pre-arrival health or security declaration. Not required
Don't use unofficial e-Visa websites
Only apply at www.evisa.gov.tr. Many third-party sites charge inflated fees and may not process your application correctly. The official site is in English and takes about 10 minutes.
Single entry only
The e-Visa is single-entry. If you leave Turkey (even for a day trip to Greece or Georgia), you'll need a new e-Visa to re-enter.
Overstaying is serious
Overstaying your 30-day limit can result in a fine, deportation, and a multi-year ban from entering Turkey. Set a reminder to leave before your visa expires.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-Visa online
Go to the official Turkish e-Visa website (www.evisa.gov.tr). Fill in your personal details, passport information, and travel dates. Pay the fee of USD 50 with a credit or debit card. The application takes about 10 minutes.
2
Receive your e-Visa by email
Most e-Visas are processed within 24 hours, but it can take up to 3 business days. You'll receive a PDF attachment. Print it out and also keep a digital copy on your phone.
3
Check in for your flight
At the airline check-in counter, show your passport and e-Visa. The airline will verify your visa before issuing a boarding pass. If you don't have the e-Visa, you won't be allowed to board.
4
Arrive at a Turkish airport
Upon landing at Istanbul Airport (IST), Sabiha Gökçen (SAW), or any other entry point, proceed to the 'Foreign Passport' queue. Have your passport, e-Visa, and possibly your return ticket and accommodation details ready.
5
Passport control and entry stamp
The border officer will scan your passport, check your e-Visa in the system, and stamp your passport. You'll be admitted for up to 30 days. Keep the stamp safe — you'll need it when you leave.

Frequently asked questions

The e-Visa is valid for 180 days from the date of issue, but you can only stay in Turkey for a maximum of 30 days per entry. It's a single-entry visa, so once you leave Turkey, you can't re-enter with the same e-Visa.
The e-Visa fee for Vietnamese citizens is USD 50. You pay online with a valid credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) during the application. The fee is non-refundable, even if your visa is rejected.
No. The e-Visa is not extendable. If you want to stay longer, you must leave Turkey before the 30 days are up and apply for a different type of visa (like a residence permit) from a Turkish embassy or consulate before your trip. Overstaying can result in fines and a ban from re-entering Turkey.
If your e-Visa is rejected, you'll receive an email explaining the reason. You cannot appeal online. You'll need to apply for a standard visa at the nearest Turkish embassy or consulate. This requires an in-person appointment and more documentation, so plan well ahead.
If you're staying in the international transit area of a Turkish airport and not passing through passport control, you don't need a visa. But if you plan to leave the airport or take a domestic flight, you'll need the e-Visa.
No. Turkish immigration requires your passport to be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival. Airlines also enforce this rule and may deny boarding if your passport doesn't meet the requirement.
Yes, the e-Visa is electronically linked to your passport number. When you arrive, the border officer will scan your passport and see your e-Visa in the system. Still, it's wise to carry a printed copy in case of system issues.
