Zambian passport holders need a visa to enter Armenia in 2026. Apply for an e-visa online before you travel. Processing takes 2–5 business days, so plan ahead.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for an Armenian eVisa at evisa.mfa.am. The standard tourist visa costs $8 USD for single entry (21 days) or $40 USD for multiple entry (up to 120 days). Processing takes 2–3 working days, but apply at least a week before your flight to be safe.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your Zambian passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Armenia does not enforce the 6-month validity rule — your passport just needs to be valid for the duration of your stay. Airlines may still ask for 6 months, so check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Armenia
Immigration officers at Zvartnots Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking showing you leave Armenia within your eVisa validity period.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you are staying. Have a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Armenia ready to show. Booking.com or Airbnb confirmations work fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Armenia does not have a fixed minimum amount, but carry cash or a card statement showing you have enough for your stay. Around $50 USD per day is a safe benchmark. ATMs are widely available in Yerevan but less so in rural areas.Recommended
Apply early — no visa on arrival
Zambian passport holders cannot get a visa at the airport. You must have an approved e-visa before you fly. Apply at least a week in advance to avoid last-minute stress.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day you land in Armenia, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew before applying for the e-visa.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-visa online
Go to evisa.mfa.am, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $8–10 USD) with a credit card. Processing takes 2–5 business days. You'll receive the visa by email — print a copy and save it on your phone.
2
Prepare your documents
Before you leave, gather your passport (valid 6+ months), printed e-visa, return ticket, and first night's accommodation confirmation. Keep them in your carry-on.
3
Arrive at Yerevan airport
At Zvartnots International Airport (EVN), join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport and printed e-visa. The officer will stamp you in. No additional forms needed. The whole process takes 5–10 minutes if you have everything ready.
4
Exit and collect luggage
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel. There's a customs declaration if you're carrying over $10,000 USD or restricted goods. Otherwise, walk straight through the green channel.
