Zambian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Georgia. The application is entirely online and takes about 5 business days to process. Plan ahead — you cannot get a visa on arrival at Tbilisi airport.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for a Georgian eVisa at evisa.gov.ge. Processing takes 5–10 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — border officers will scan the barcode on arrival.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your Zambian passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Georgia does not enforce a 6-month validity rule — your passport just needs to be valid for the duration of your stay.Required
Return or onward ticket
Immigration may ask for proof
Have a printed or digital onward ticket showing you leave Georgia within your eVisa validity. Officers at Tbilisi Airport check this on arrival, especially if you arrive on a one-way ticket.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and contact number. Immigration rarely asks, but having it ready avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or cash equivalent to roughly 200 GEL per day of stay. Officers rarely request this for eVisa holders, but it helps if questioned.Recommended
eVisa processing time
Do not book non-refundable flights or accommodation until your eVisa is approved. Processing can take up to 5 business days, and there is no rush service.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Georgia, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to www.evisa.gov.ge, fill in the application form, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $20-25 USD) with a credit or debit card. Processing takes about 5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
You'll get an email with the eVisa approval. Print a copy and also save the PDF on your phone. Keep it with your passport.
3
Arrive at Tbilisi International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Have your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer will stamp your passport — that's your entry permission.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After the stamp, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually no customs declaration for personal items. Exit into the arrivals hall.
