No eVisa option for Zambian nationals
Zambian passport holders are not eligible for the UK's online visa system. You must apply through the embassy/consulate route — there is no shortcut. Ignore any third-party websites claiming to offer an eVisa for Zambians; they are not official.
Apply well in advance
Visa processing can take 3 weeks or longer, and appointment slots at the Lusaka VAC can fill up. Start your application at least 2 months before your planned travel date to avoid stress.

Complete the online application
Go to GOV.UK and fill out the visa application form. You'll need to select the visa type (e.g., Standard Visitor). After submitting, you'll get a reference number and be prompted to pay the fee.

Pay the fee and book biometrics
Pay the £115 fee (for 6-month visitor visa) online. Then book an appointment at the UK Visa Application Centre in Lusaka. Appointments are usually available within a few weeks.

Attend the biometric appointment
Go to the VAC in Lusaka on your scheduled date. Bring your passport, appointment confirmation, and any required documents. You'll give fingerprints and a photo. The staff may also scan your supporting documents.

Wait for a decision
Processing typically takes 3 weeks for visitor visas, but can be longer. You can track your application online. If approved, your passport will be returned with the visa vignette (sticker) attached.

Travel to the UK
When you arrive at a UK airport (e.g., Heathrow, Gatwick), join the 'Non-EU' or 'All Other Passports' queue. Present your passport with the visa. Border officers may ask about your trip — have your return ticket and accommodation details handy.
