Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned departure date from Armenia. Airlines check this at check-in, and border officers enforce it strictly.Required

Proof of departure from Armenia
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they may check it before granting entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation, hostel booking, or a letter from your host in Armenia. Border officers rarely ask, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient money for your stay
Have bank statements, a credit card, or cash equivalent to at least 50,000 AMD per day (roughly $130 USD). Officers may ask if you look underfunded.Recommended
No visa on arrival for Zimbabweans
Armenia does not offer visa on arrival for Zimbabwe passport holders. You must have an approved e-Visa before you board your flight. Airlines check this before issuing a boarding pass.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Armenia, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it first.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your e-Visa online
Go to evisa.mfa.am, fill in your details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $8-10 USD) with a credit card. Processing usually takes 3-5 business days.
2
Print or save your e-Visa
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at immigration in Yerevan.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
At Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport, printed e-Visa, return ticket, and accommodation booking ready. The officer will stamp you in — usually quick if your docs are in order.

Typically 3-5 business days. Apply at least a week before your flight to be safe. The fee is about $8-10 USD.
You'll be denied boarding or entry. Renew your passport first, then apply for the e-Visa. The 6-month validity is counted from your date of entry into Armenia.

The standard e-Visa allows up to 120 days. Extensions are possible but not guaranteed — you'd need to visit the Migration Service in Yerevan before your visa expires. Best to plan your trip within the visa validity.
Your passport, printed e-Visa, return ticket, and first night's accommodation booking. Have them ready in a folder — the officer may ask for all of them.
No, but it's strongly recommended. Medical costs can be high, and a basic policy is cheap insurance against a bad situation.
