Arrive at Macau border checkpoint
You'll enter Macau via Macau International Airport (MFM), the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge, or one of the ferry terminals (Macau Outer Harbour, Taipa). At immigration, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue.

Present your documents to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport, completed arrival card (if given on the plane or at the border), and your return/onward ticket. The officer will check your passport validity and blank page.

Pay the visa-on-arrival fee
The officer will tell you the fee — typically around 100 MOP (about 12 USD) for a single-entry visa. Pay in cash (Macanese pataca, Hong Kong dollars, or Chinese yuan — have small bills). Keep the receipt.

Receive your visa and enter Macau
The officer will stamp or affix a visa sticker in your passport. You're then free to collect your luggage and exit the arrivals area. The visa is usually valid for up to 30 days.
