What happens at the border

1
Apply for a Schengen visa at the Dutch embassy or consulate
Submit your application in person at the Dutch embassy in Harare or the consulate in Bulawayo. Book an appointment online first. Bring all required documents, pay the fee (€80 for adults, €40 for children 6-12, free for under 6), and provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo). Processing takes 15 calendar days, but can take up to 45 days during peak periods.
2
Wait for visa decision
After your appointment, the embassy processes your application. You can track it online if you provided a tracking number. Once approved, the visa sticker is placed in your passport. Collect it in person or arrange courier delivery.
3
Travel to the Netherlands
When you arrive at Schiphol Airport or any other Schengen border, go to the 'All Passports' queue. Have your passport with visa, return ticket, accommodation proof, and insurance ready. The officer may ask about your plans — answer clearly. You'll get an entry stamp valid for up to 90 days.
