Bosnia and Herzegovina passport holders need an eVisa to enter Thailand for tourism or short business visits. The eVisa must be approved before you travel — there is no visa on arrival for BA passports. As of 2026, the process is entirely online and straightforward if you prepare the documents in advance.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa Application
Apply online before travel
You need an eVisa to enter Thailand. Apply at thaievisa.go.th at least 2 weeks before departure. Processing takes 3-5 business days, and you'll receive a confirmation email with your visa approval.Apply for eVisaRequired

Must be valid for at least 6 months
Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Thailand. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration officers at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang enforce it strictly.Required
Return or Onward Ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at the border. Budget airlines like AirAsia and Nok Air check this before boarding. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight itinerary ready.Required
Proof of Accommodation
Hotel booking or host address
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their full address and phone number. Immigration may ask for this during the entry interview, especially if you're staying in a private residence.Recommended
Proof of Funds
Minimum 20,000 THB per person
Immigration can ask you to show cash or a bank statement proving you have at least 20,000 THB (about $550 USD) per person or 40,000 THB per family. ATMs are widely available, but having cash in hand avoids delays.Recommended

Optional online pre-registration
Register at tdac.immigration.go.th before your flight to speed up immigration. Fill in your passport details, flight info, and accommodation. You get a QR code that lets you use the fast lane at major airports.Register TDACOptional
No visa on arrival for BA passports
Bosnia and Herzegovina passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Thailand. You must apply for and receive an eVisa before you travel. Arriving without one means you'll be denied entry.
TDAC saves time at immigration
The Thailand Digital Arrival Card is free and optional, but completing it online before your flight means you skip the paper form queue. Do it at tdac.immigration.go.th up to 72 hours before arrival.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to thaievisa.go.th, create an account, fill in your details, upload your passport scan, photo, flight itinerary, and hotel booking. Pay the fee online. Processing takes 3-5 business days.
2
Receive your eVisa approval
You'll get an email with a PDF approval letter. Print it out and keep it with your passport. The eVisa is linked to your passport number electronically, but having a paper copy is safer.
3
Arrive at a Thai airport
At Suvarnabhumi (BKK), Don Mueang (DMK), Phuket, or Chiang Mai, go to the 'eVisa' or 'Visa on Arrival' counter. Present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. They'll stamp you in for up to 60 days.
4
Complete TDAC (optional but recommended)
Before your flight, fill out the TDAC at tdac.immigration.go.th. You'll get a QR code. Show it at immigration to skip the paper form queue.
