Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before you fly
You need a Malaysia eVisa before boarding. Apply at the official Window Malaysia portal, upload your passport scan and photo, and pay the fee. Processing takes 1–3 working days — do not book non-refundable flights until approved.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months
Your Bangladesh passport needs at least 6 months of remaining validity from your date of entry into Malaysia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers in Malaysia routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return flight. Have a printed or digital copy of your ticket ready — they will check the date matches your eVisa validity.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Malaysia. Officers may ask for it at the counter, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have cash, a bank statement, or a credit card showing access to at least 500 USD (or equivalent in MYR). Immigration may ask for proof of sufficient funds for your stay.Recommended
eVisa is single-entry only
The eVisa allows one entry. If you leave Malaysia (even to Singapore or Thailand), you'll need a new eVisa to re-enter.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa PDF, flight tickets, and hotel booking in a cloud folder (Google Drive, Dropbox) as backup. Phone batteries die, but the cloud doesn't.
