Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa application
Apply for a visa before travel
You need a visa to enter the Philippines. Apply at the Philippine embassy or consulate in Bangladesh, or check if you're eligible for the eVisa at evisa.gov.ph. Processing takes 5–10 working days — apply at least 2 weeks before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from the Philippines. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from the Philippines
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket within your visa validity. Without one, you may be refused entry and sent back on the next flight.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation letter
Have a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in the Philippines. Immigration may ask where you're staying — a vague answer can get you flagged for secondary inspection.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Carry at least PHP 10,000 (or equivalent in USD) in cash or have a bank statement ready. Immigration officers may ask how you'll fund your trip — a credit card alone isn't always accepted.Recommended
Apply early — processing can be slow
The e-Visa system sometimes takes longer than advertised. Apply at least 2 weeks before your flight to avoid last-minute stress.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your approved e-Visa, passport photo, and booking confirmations to your phone and email. If you lose your printed copies, you can still show them on your phone.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-Visa online
Go to evisa.gov.ph, create an account, fill in the application form, upload a passport photo, and pay the fee. Processing takes 3–5 business days. You'll receive the approved visa by email.
2
Pack your documents
Print or save to your phone: the approved e-Visa, your passport, return ticket, hotel booking, and travel insurance. Keep them together in a folder or a clear digital folder.
3
Arrive at a Philippine airport
At immigration counters in Manila (NAIA), Cebu, or Clark, present your passport and e-Visa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel address. Answer clearly and confidently.
4
Receive entry stamp
Once cleared, the officer stamps your passport. Check the stamp says the correct number of days allowed (usually up to 30 days). Keep the stamp visible for your departure.
