Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before you fly
You need an Indonesian eVisa before departure. Apply at the official molina.imigrasi.go.id portal — upload your passport scan, photo, and flight details. Processing takes 2–5 working days, so apply at least a week ahead.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months
Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Indonesia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward ticket out of Indonesia. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or next destination ready — they may deny entry without it.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Indonesia. Immigration sometimes asks for it, especially if you're staying more than a few days.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or cash equivalent to at least $1,000 USD ready. Officers may ask to see you have enough money for your stay, though it's not always checked.Recommended
Passport validity is critical
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Indonesia. Airlines check this before boarding — if it's less, you won't be allowed to fly.
eVisa is not extendable
The eVisa for Bangladeshi passport holders cannot be extended. Plan your trip to fit within the allowed stay. If you overstay, you'll face fines of IDR 1,000,000 per day.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa Online
Go to molina.imigrasi.go.id and fill out the eVisa application. Upload a digital photo and your passport data page. Pay the visa fee online. Processing usually takes 1-3 business days. You'll receive the eVisa by email.
2
Prepare Your Documents
Print or save on your phone: the eVisa approval, your passport (valid 6+ months), return/onward ticket, and first night accommodation booking. Also download a local eSIM or buy a SIM card at the airport.
3
Arrive at Indonesian Immigration
At the airport, follow signs to 'Foreign Passport' or 'eVisa' counters. Present your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport — you're in.

Collect Luggage and Exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. Then proceed to customs (green channel for no goods to declare, red channel if you have items to declare). Walk out into the arrivals hall.
