Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Taiwan. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required

Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host ready. Officers rarely ask for it, but having a printed copy avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Carry a bank statement showing at least NT$30,000 (around $1,000 USD) or equivalent in cash. Immigration may ask to see it if you look underfunded.Recommended
Apply early — no walk-in option
There is no visa-on-arrival for Brazilians. You must apply online at visawebapp.boca.gov.tw and receive approval before your flight. Processing can take 2–3 weeks, so don't leave it to the last minute.
Keep your visa printed and digital
Print the approved visa document and also save a PDF on your phone. Airlines may check it at check-in, and immigration will ask for it on arrival.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your visa online
