Spanish passport holders can visit Armenia visa-free for up to 180 days per year. No visa application or fee is needed before travel — just show up with your passport and you'll be stamped in at the border. This policy is in effect for 2026.
Must be valid for the duration of your stay in Armenia
Your passport must be valid for the entire period you plan to stay in Armenia — no extra months required beyond your departure date. Airlines at Madrid and Barcelona check this at check-in, so verify your passport expiry covers your full trip.
Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Armenia
Immigration officers at Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they want to see you leave within the 180-day visa-free window.
Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a hotel reservation. A printed booking confirmation or a letter from a host with their address in Armenia works fine.
Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Armenia does not enforce a fixed minimum amount, but carrying around €50–€100 per day in cash or having a credit card with available balance covers you if asked. ATMs in Yerevan dispense Armenian drams and euros.
Recommended
No visa needed — but carry proof of onward travel
Immigration officers at Zvartnots Airport sometimes ask to see a return or onward ticket. Have a screenshot or printed copy ready. They rarely ask for proof of accommodation, but it's smart to have it.
Passport validity is strict
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. If it expires sooner, you'll be refused boarding by the airline or denied entry at the border. Renew early.
What happens at the border
1
Arrive at the border
At Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport (EVN) or any land border crossing, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will stamp you in — no forms to fill, no fee to pay.
2
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay (up to 180 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter — make sure the dates are correct.
3
Collect luggage and exit
After the stamp, proceed to baggage claim (if flying) and then customs. There's no customs declaration form for personal items. Walk through the green channel if you have nothing to declare.
Enter your arrival date and we'll tell you exactly when you need to leave.
