What happens at the border

Complete Check-Mig Online
Go to migracioncolombia.gov.co and fill in the free Check-Mig form. Do this between 72 and 1 hour before your flight. You'll get a QR code — save it on your phone.

Arrive at Colombian Airport
At Bogotá (El Dorado), Medellín, or Cartagena airports, follow signs to 'Migración' or 'Extranjeros'. Have your passport, boarding pass, and Check-Mig QR code ready.

Passport Control
Hand over your passport and the officer will stamp you in. They may ask for your return ticket or accommodation — have screenshots ready. The process usually takes 1-2 minutes.

Collect Luggage and Exit
After passport control, collect your bags from the carousel and walk through customs. There's usually a green (nothing to declare) and red (goods to declare) channel.
