Valid passport
Must cover your stay
Your Hong Kong passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date in Cambodia. Airlines check this before boarding. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before you travel.Required
Return or onward ticket
Show you're leaving
Immigration officers at Cambodian airports routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have at least $500 USD in cash or a bank statement ready. Immigration rarely checks, but budget airlines sometimes ask at check-in.Recommended
14 days is strict
The 14-day visa-free period is not extendable. If you overstay, you'll be fined $10 per day at the airport before departure. Keep track of your entry date.
Don't pay for a visa
Some travelers are mistakenly asked to pay for a 'visa on arrival' at the border. As a Hong Kong passport holder, you don't need one for 14 days. If asked, politely explain you're visa-free and ask for a supervisor if needed.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the airport
You'll land at Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) or Siem Reap International Airport (REP). Follow the signs to 'Immigration' or 'Arrivals'.
2
Join the immigration queue
Look for the queue for 'Foreign Passports'. Since you're visa-free, you'll join the regular foreign passport line. Have your passport ready.
3
Present your passport
Hand your passport to the immigration officer. They'll check your details, possibly ask about your stay, and stamp your passport with a 14-day entry permit. No visa fee is charged.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After the stamp, proceed to baggage claim, then head to customs. You'll usually walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have nothing to declare.

Frequently asked questions

You can stay for up to 14 days without a visa. This is a visa-free entry, not a visa on arrival, so no fee is charged. The 14 days start from the day you enter.
No, the visa-free entry is not extendable. If you want to stay longer, you'll need to leave Cambodia and re-enter, or apply for a different visa type before your 14 days are up. Overstaying can result in fines.
As of now, no arrival declaration is required for Cambodia. You'll just need your passport. However, airlines may provide a simple arrival card during the flight — if they do, fill it out and hand it to immigration.
You'll likely be denied boarding by the airline or refused entry by Cambodian immigration. It's not worth the risk — renew your passport before traveling.
No. Since you're visa-free, there's no fee for the 14-day entry. If an official tries to charge you, politely decline and ask to speak to a supervisor.
Yes, the visa-free entry applies at all international border crossings, including land borders with Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. The same 14-day limit applies.
US dollars are widely accepted, but the official currency is the Cambodian Riel (KHR). You'll often get change in Riel. ATMs dispense both. For immigration, no fees are required, but having small USD bills is handy for transport and tips.
