eVisa application
Visa on arrival also available
Apply online at evisa.gov.kh for $30 USD. Processing takes 3 business days. Alternatively, get a visa on arrival at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or Sihanoukville airports — bring $30 USD in cash and a passport photo.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for 6 months beyond arrival
Your Hungarian passport needs at least 6 months of remaining validity from your date of entry. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa on arrival
Immigration officers ask for a flight out of Cambodia within your visa validity. Have a printed or digital copy of your onward ticket ready — budget airlines sometimes check this at check-in too.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host. Immigration rarely asks for it, but having it ready avoids delays at the visa-on-arrival counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash or bank statement
Have at least $500 USD in cash or a bank statement showing sufficient funds. Immigration officers rarely check this for Hungarian passport holders, but the rule exists.Recommended
Cash only — no cards
The visa-on-arrival counter accepts only US dollars in cash. There are ATMs at the airport, but they charge fees and may not dispense small bills. Bring 30-35 USD in crisp notes.
Photo booth available at airports
If you forget a passport photo, both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports have automated photo booths near the visa counter. They cost about 2-3 USD and take a few minutes.

What happens at the border

1
Fill out the arrival form
On the plane or at the airport, grab a Cambodia Arrival/Departure card and a visa application form. Fill in your details: passport info, flight number, hotel address. Use black or blue ink.
2
Go to the visa-on-arrival counter
At Phnom Penh (PNH) or Siem Reap (SAI) airports, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' after passport control. Hand over your passport, completed form, photo, and 30 USD. The officer will process it in 5-10 minutes.
3
Pay and collect your visa
Pay the fee in US dollars. You'll get a receipt and your passport back with the visa sticker. Double-check the validity dates and your name spelling before walking away.
4
Proceed to immigration
Join the line for foreign passports. Present your passport with the visa sticker, the arrival card, and your boarding pass. The officer may ask about your return ticket or hotel. Answer clearly, and you're through.
