Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Hungarian passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to be in the Maldives. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Maldivian immigration, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from the Maldives
Immigration officers at Velana International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone. Without one, you may be refused boarding or entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel or resort booking confirmation
Most visitors arrive with a pre-booked resort or guesthouse — immigration rarely asks for proof, but having a booking confirmation handy avoids delays. If you plan to island-hop, carry the first night's confirmation.Recommended
Proof of funds
Evidence of sufficient money for your stay
Officials can request proof of funds, though it's uncommon for short tourist visits. Carry a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least $100 per day of your stay to be safe.Recommended
