Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Singapore. Singapore does not require 6 months of validity beyond your departure date, but some airlines may still enforce this — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Singapore
Immigration officers routinely ask for proof that you're leaving Singapore within your 90-day visa-free period. Have a printed or digital copy of your onward flight, bus, or ferry ticket ready. Budget airlines are especially strict about this at check-in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Officers may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. A hotel confirmation email or a letter from a friend in Singapore works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Immigration can ask for evidence of sufficient funds — around 1,000 SGD per person is a safe benchmark. A recent bank statement or credit card with available limit usually satisfies them.Recommended
SG Arrival Card (digital pre-arrival form)
Online arrival declaration via ICA
All travellers must submit the SG Arrival Card online within 3 days before arriving in Singapore. It's free and takes about 5 minutes at eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard. You'll get a confirmation email — keep it handy on your phone.Submit SG Arrival CardRequired
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Singapore immigration will deny entry if your passport has less than 6 months of validity left from your date of entry. Check your passport now and renew if needed.
Keep a digital copy of your documents
Save screenshots of your return ticket, hotel booking, and passport info page on your phone. If immigration asks, you can show them instantly without fumbling through emails.

What happens at the border

1
Arrival at Changi Airport
After landing at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Foreign Passports'. Join the queue for manual counters or automated e-gates if eligible. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
2
Immigration counter
Hand over your passport to the officer. They may ask about your purpose of visit, length of stay, and where you're staying. Answer clearly and briefly. If asked, show your return ticket and accommodation booking.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay period (usually 90 days). Check the stamp before walking away — make sure the dates are correct.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green lane. You're now free to enter Singapore.
