Kuwaiti passport holders need an eVisa to enter Taiwan in 2026. The process is entirely online and straightforward — you apply before you travel, get approved electronically, and show the approval at immigration. No visa-free entry or visa on arrival is available for Kuwaiti nationals.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Taiwan eVisa
Apply for a Taiwan eVisa at the official portal before departure. The eVisa is valid for single or multiple entries depending on approval. Processing takes 2–5 working days.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your Kuwaiti passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Taiwan. Taiwan does not enforce a 6-month validity rule, but airlines may check for it.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Taiwan airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Taiwan. Officers rarely ask, but having it avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Show a recent bank statement or enough cash to cover your stay. Taiwan does not set a fixed minimum, but 500 USD equivalent is a safe benchmark.Recommended
eVisa is single-entry only
The eVisa allows one entry. If you leave Taiwan (e.g., for a day trip to Hong Kong), you'll need a new eVisa to re-enter. Plan your itinerary accordingly.
Passport validity counts from entry, not departure
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Taiwan. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa. This is a common reason for rejection.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to visawebapp.boca.gov.tw, create an account, fill in the application form, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page, and pay the fee (around 1,600 TWD, roughly 50 USD). Processing usually takes 2–5 business days.
2
Receive your eVisa approval
You'll get an email with your eVisa approval document. Print it out and save a copy on your phone. The eVisa is typically valid for 30 days from issue and allows a single entry with a stay of up to 30 days.
3
Arrive at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) or Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH)
At immigration, present your passport and the printed eVisa approval. The officer will scan it, stamp your passport, and you're in. Keep your return ticket and accommodation details ready in case they ask.
