Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date from Thailand
Your passport needs at least 6 months of remaining validity from the day you leave Thailand. Airlines at Kuwait International Airport will check this before letting you board. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before you travel.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Thailand within 60 days
Immigration officers at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Budget airlines like AirAsia and Nok Air often check this at check-in too. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight booking ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. A hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and phone number works. Keep a copy on your phone or printed.Recommended
Proof of funds
Minimum 20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB per family
Thailand's official requirement is 20,000 THB (about 550 USD) per person or 40,000 THB per family. Immigration rarely asks for it, but if they do, cash, a bank statement, or a credit card showing available credit works. Keep it accessible.Recommended
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)TDAC
Optional online pre-registration
TDAC is a free 2-minute online form at tdac.immigration.go.th. Fill in your passport details, flight info, and accommodation address before you fly. You get a QR code that lets you use the faster immigration lane at major airports.Register on TDACOptional
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check this before you board. If your passport has less than 6 months validity, you will be denied boarding — no exceptions. Renew your passport well in advance.
TDAC saves time at immigration
The Thailand Digital Arrival Card is free and optional, but many travellers report shorter queues after completing it. Fill it out at https://tdac.immigration.go.th up to 72 hours before arrival.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Thai immigration counter
At any Thai airport (Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Phuket, etc.), follow signs to 'Passport Control' or 'Foreign Passports'. Join the queue for visa-exempt entries.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport (with 6+ months validity and a blank page) and your boarding pass. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation proof — have them ready on your phone or printed.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 60-day stay permit. Check the stamp before leaving the counter — confirm the date is correct. Keep the stamp safe; you'll need it when you leave.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel and proceed through customs. If you completed TDAC, you may have used a faster lane.

Frequently asked questions

No, the visa-free entry for Kuwaiti passport holders is not extendable. You must leave Thailand before the 60 days expire. If you need a longer stay, you must apply for a visa (e.g., tourist visa or non-immigrant visa) at a Thai embassy before travel.
Overstay costs 500 THB per day (about 14 USD / 4.2 KWD). You pay at the airport immigration office before departure. Overstays of 90+ days can result in a 1-year ban from Thailand. Avoid it.
If you stay in the airport transit area and don't pass immigration, you don't need a visa. If you plan to leave the airport (even for a few hours), you must use the visa-free entry — which gives you 60 days. No extra visa needed.
Yes, there's no official limit on the number of entries. However, if you spend more time in Thailand than outside it (e.g., back-to-back 60-day stays), immigration may question your intentions and deny entry. Have proof of onward travel and accommodation each time.
Yes, the Thailand Digital Arrival Card at https://tdac.immigration.go.th is completely free. Ignore any third-party sites that charge a fee. Completing it online can reduce your time at the immigration counter.
You will be denied boarding by the airline and refused entry by Thai immigration. Renew your passport before travel. No exceptions.
No, the visa-free entry is for tourism and short business visits only. Working remotely for a foreign employer is technically not allowed on a visa-free entry. For long-term remote work, consider the Thailand Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) or a proper work permit.
