Kuwaiti passport holders can get a visa on arrival in Cambodia. This is the standard entry method for tourism — no need to apply in advance. As of 2026, the process is straightforward at all major international airports.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for a Cambodia eVisa at evisa.gov.kh. The fee is $30 USD, and processing takes 3 working days. You need a digital passport photo and a scanned copy of your passport bio page. Print the approval letter and bring it with you.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date
Your passport must have at least 6 months of remaining validity from the day you enter Cambodia. Immigration officers at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports check this strictly. If your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Cambodia
Airlines and immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight itinerary showing you leave Cambodia within your visa validity. Without it, you may be refused check-in or entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Immigration may ask for your hotel address or a letter of invitation. Have a printed booking confirmation or a letter from your host ready. This is not always checked, but having it avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support your stay
Officers may ask for cash or bank statements to confirm you have enough money for your trip. Carry at least $500 USD in cash or have a recent bank statement handy. This is rarely requested but can be asked at the border.Recommended
Cash only at visa counter
The visa-on-arrival counter accepts only US dollars in cash. No credit cards, no other currencies. ATMs are available after immigration, but not before. Bring $30–$35 in small bills.
Photo booth available at major airports
If you forget your passport photo, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports have photo booths near the visa counter. They cost about $3–$5 and take a few minutes. But it's easier to bring your own.

What happens at the border

1
Fill out the arrival form
On the plane or at the airport, you'll get a Cambodia arrival card and a visa application form. Fill both out in capital letters. You'll need your passport number, flight number, and hotel address.
2
Go to the visa-on-arrival counter
After deplaning, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' (usually before immigration). At Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports, the counter is clearly marked. Hand over your passport, completed form, photo, and $30 cash.
3
Wait for processing
Processing takes 5–15 minutes. They'll call your name or hand back your passport with the visa sticker inside. Check the sticker — make sure your name and validity dates are correct.
4
Proceed to immigration
With your visa-stamped passport, join the immigration queue. Present your passport, arrival card, and boarding pass if asked. The officer will stamp you in. Keep the departure card stub — you'll need it when leaving.

Frequently asked questions

A tourist visa costs $30 USD. A business visa costs $35 USD. Both are valid for 30 days. You must pay in cash — US dollars only. No credit or debit cards accepted.
No. The visa on arrival is not extendable. If you want to stay longer than 30 days, you'd need to leave the country and re-enter, or apply for a different visa type before travel (like an e-visa or business visa).
You will be denied the visa on arrival. Immigration strictly enforces the 6-month validity rule. If your passport is close to expiring, renew it before you travel.
Yes, you need a confirmed onward ticket. Immigration may ask to see it. It doesn't have to be a flight back to Kuwait — any onward ticket to another country works. A screenshot or printed copy is fine.
Yes, but not all land border crossings offer it. The main ones that do: Poipet (from Thailand), Bavet (from Vietnam), and Cham Yeam (from Thailand). The process is similar to airports — same fee and requirements. Avoid smaller crossings as they may not have visa-on-arrival facilities.
Overstay fines are $5 USD per day, capped at $500 USD. You pay at immigration when you leave. Overstaying can also get you blacklisted if it's excessive (more than 30 days). Set a reminder to leave before your 30 days are up.
Yes, Cambodia offers an e-visa for most nationalities, including Kuwait. It costs around $36 USD and takes 3 business days to process. You apply online and get a PDF. Print it and bring it with you. The e-visa is valid for 30 days and can only be used at certain entry points (major airports and some land borders). It's a good backup if you want to skip the queue.
