Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity from your entry date into Brazil. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you may be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Brazil
Immigration officers at São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro airports regularly ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — a flight reservation works if you haven't booked yet.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and contact details. Officers rarely ask, but having it avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the stay
Have a bank statement or credit card showing at least R$ 200 (about $40 USD) per day of your stay. Immigration rarely checks, but budget airlines sometimes ask at check-in.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Brazil. If it expires sooner, renew it before you go. Immigration will deny entry if your passport doesn't meet this requirement.
No visa, but don't skip the return ticket
Even though you don't need a visa, immigration officers routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready. A screenshot on your phone is fine.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Brazilian immigration
At any international airport (Guarulhos in São Paulo, Galeão in Rio, Brasília, etc.), follow signs to 'Passport Control' or 'Foreigners'. Join the queue for non-Mercosur passports.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport and return ticket (printed or on your phone). The officer may ask your purpose of visit, where you're staying, and how long you plan to stay. Answer clearly and briefly.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the date of entry and the maximum stay (30 days). Check the stamp before walking away — if the dates look wrong, ask for correction immediately.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. Walk through the green channel unless you have goods to declare.

Brazil does not require proof of yellow fever vaccination for entry from Kazakhstan. However, the vaccine is recommended if you plan to visit rural areas, the Amazon, or other jungle regions. Check with your doctor at least 4 weeks before travel.
Same rules apply. At land borders (e.g., from Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay), you'll go through Brazilian Federal Police immigration. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The 30-day limit still applies.
Yes, but each visit is limited to 30 days. There's no official limit on the number of entries, but if you spend too much time in Brazil (e.g., more than 90 days in a 180-day period), immigration may question your intentions. Keep trips reasonable.
You'll be fined approximately R$100 per day overstayed (around $20 USD). You must pay the fine before leaving Brazil. Overstaying can also lead to a temporary ban on re-entry. Don't risk it — leave on time.
No. Brazil does not require an online arrival declaration for Kazakhstani passport holders. Just show up with your passport and return ticket. The immigration officer will handle everything at the counter.
