Kazakhstan passport holders can get a Visa on Arrival (VoA) for Indonesia. As of 2026, you can get this visa at major airports and seaports — no need to apply in advance. The VoA costs 500,000 IDR (about $32 USD) and is valid for 30 days.

Visa on arrival
Visa on arrival
Kazakh passport holders get a 30-day visa on arrival at major Indonesian airports (CGK, DPS, SUB, etc.) for $35 USD. Pay in cash USD at the visa-on-arrival counter before immigration. You can extend it once for another 30 days at an immigration office for about $35 USD.Apply onlineRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date
Indonesia strictly enforces the 6-month passport validity rule. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, they will deny boarding. Your passport also needs at least two blank pages for the visa sticker and entry stamp.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa-on-arrival entry
Immigration officers at Jakarta and Bali routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready. Airlines also check this before issuing your boarding pass.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to have ready
Immigration rarely asks for hotel bookings, but having a printed confirmation for your first few nights speeds things up. If you're staying with friends, carry their address and phone number written down.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to have ready
Officials can ask for proof of sufficient funds — roughly $50 USD per day of your stay. A recent bank statement or a credit card with a decent limit usually satisfies them. I've never seen anyone turned away for this, but better safe than sorry.Recommended
Cash is king for VoA
While some counters accept cards, having 500,000 IDR in cash (or $32 USD) saves time and avoids issues. ATMs are available after immigration but not before.
Keep your return ticket handy
Immigration officers frequently ask to see your return or onward ticket. Have a screenshot on your phone or a printed copy ready.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at immigration counter
After landing at any major Indonesian airport (Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, etc.), follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' counters. These are clearly marked and usually before the main immigration queues.
2
Pay the VoA fee
Pay 500,000 IDR (about $32 USD) in cash. They accept Indonesian Rupiah, US Dollars, Euros, and sometimes credit cards. Keep the receipt.
3
Get your visa sticker
The officer will paste a VoA sticker into your passport and stamp it. Check the date — it's valid for 30 days from entry.
4
Proceed to immigration
After getting the VoA, go to the regular immigration queue. Present your passport with the VoA sticker, your boarding pass, and your return ticket if asked.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
After the immigration officer stamps your passport, you're free to collect your bags and exit the arrivals hall.
