Lebanese passport holders need a visa to enter India. You must apply online for an e-Visa before you travel — there are no visa-on-arrival options for Lebanese citizens. Plan ahead, as processing can take up to 4 business days.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for an India eVisa at indianvisaonline.gov.in at least 4 days before departure. Fees range from $25 to $80 USD depending on visa type and duration. Approval usually arrives within 72 hours — print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for 6 months beyond arrival
Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of arrival in India. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from India
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return flight ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital version on your phone ready to show at the counter.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in India. Immigration may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient money for your stay
Have bank statements, credit cards, or cash available to show you can cover your expenses. Officers rarely ask, but it helps to have proof ready if questioned.Recommended
Apply early — no rush option
Indian e-Visa processing takes 2–4 business days. There's no expedited or same-day service for Lebanese citizens. Don't wait until the last minute.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your e-Visa, passport, return ticket, and hotel booking as PDFs on your phone. Also print a paper copy — phone batteries die, and not all airport kiosks have chargers.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-Visa online
Go to indianvisaonline.gov.in, fill out the application, upload a passport photo and scanned passport page, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 2–4 business days. You'll receive the approved e-Visa by email.
2
Pack your documents
Print or save to your phone: the e-Visa approval, passport, return ticket, hotel booking, and travel insurance. Keep them together in a folder or a clear digital folder on your phone.
3
Arrive at an Indian airport
At immigration, join the 'e-Visa' queue. Hand over your passport and e-Visa. The officer may ask about your stay and return ticket. Answer clearly. You'll get a stamp allowing entry for up to 60 days (for tourist e-Visa).
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. You'll pass through customs — if you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. Then you're free to exit the airport.
