Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for a Vietnam eVisa at evisa.xuatnhhapcanh.gov.vn. The fee is $25 USD for single entry or $50 USD for multiple entry, valid for up to 90 days. Processing takes 3 working days — do not book flights until you receive the approval letter.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Vietnam. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — if you cannot show one, you may be refused entry and sent back on the next flight.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash or bank statement
Have at least $500 USD in cash or a recent bank statement showing sufficient funds. Immigration may ask to see it if you look like you are traveling on a tight budget.Recommended
Passport validity is critical
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Vietnam. If it's close to expiring, renew it before applying for the eVisa. Immigration will deny entry if your passport doesn't meet this requirement.
eVisa is the only option for Lebanese passport holders
There is no visa-on-arrival or visa-free entry for Lebanese passport holders. You must apply for the eVisa online before you travel. The process is straightforward and takes a few days.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Vietnam eVisa website (evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport data page. Pay the fee online (around $25 USD). Processing takes 3-5 business days.
2
Receive your eVisa approval letter
Once approved, you'll get an eVisa approval letter via email. Print a copy and also save the PDF on your phone. This letter is your entry permit.
3
Arrive at a Vietnamese airport
At the airport, go to the immigration counter. Present your passport, the eVisa approval letter, and your boarding pass. The officer will stamp your passport and let you through.
4
Prepare for immigration questions
Immigration officers may ask about your return ticket, accommodation, and purpose of visit. Have your hotel booking and onward ticket ready on your phone or printed.
