Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your Lithuanian passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Vietnam. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration officers enforce it strictly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return flight ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they may deny entry without one.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host. Immigration may ask for it at the border, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or bank statement
Have at least $500 USD or equivalent in cash, a credit card, or a recent bank statement. Immigration officers rarely check this, but it's safer to have it ready.Recommended
Visa-free for 45 days
Lithuanian passport holders can enter Vietnam without a visa for up to 45 days. No application needed — just show up with a valid passport and a return ticket.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Vietnam, not from your departure date. Double-check before you fly.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the airport
At Noi Bai (Hanoi), Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City), or Da Nang airport, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'All Passports'. For visa-free entry, join the line for foreign passports.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport (valid 6+ months), boarding pass, and return/onward ticket. The officer may ask for your hotel booking. Answer clearly and confidently.
3
