Libyan passport holders need an eVisa to enter Georgia. You apply entirely online before traveling. As of 2026, this is the only option for tourism or short business visits — there is no visa on arrival for Libyan nationals.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply for Georgia eVisa
Libyan passport holders must apply for a Georgia eVisa before travel. Go to the official Georgia eVisa portal at evisa.gov.ge, fill in the form, upload your documents, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 5–7 business days — apply at least 2 weeks before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Georgia. Georgia does not require 6 months beyond departure — just that the passport is valid on the day you enter and for the days you plan to stay. Airlines may still ask for 6 months validity, so check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers at Tbilisi International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking showing you leave Georgia within your eVisa validity period.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation, Airbnb confirmation, or a letter from your host in Georgia. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays at the border.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing you have enough money for your stay. There is no fixed minimum amount, but around 100 GEL per day is a safe benchmark. Officers rarely check this for short visits.Recommended
Apply early — processing delays happen
The eVisa system is generally reliable, but processing can take up to 10 business days during peak season. Don't book non-refundable flights until you have the approved visa in hand.
No visa on arrival for Libyan passport holders
Unlike some other nationalities, Libyan citizens cannot get a visa on arrival at Georgian airports or land borders. You must have an approved eVisa before you travel.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to www.evisa.gov.ge, fill in the application form, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but apply at least two weeks before your trip to be safe.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF by email. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. The visa is linked to your passport number, but having a physical copy speeds things up at check-in and immigration.
3
Arrive at Tbilisi International Airport
When you land, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Have your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket ready. The officer will scan your passport, stamp it, and wave you through. The whole process usually takes 2–5 minutes per person.
4
Show your accommodation and onward ticket if asked
Some officers ask for proof of where you're staying and your departure flight. Have the booking confirmation and ticket screenshot on your phone. If you don't have them, you may be questioned further.
