Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Libyan passport holders must apply for a Thai eVisa at thaievisa.go.th before departure. Processing takes 3–5 business days, so apply at least a week before your flight. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport to immigration.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
6 months validity required
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your date of entry into Thailand. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang routinely ask for proof of onward travel within 30 days. Budget airlines are especially strict — have a printed or digital booking ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended
Carry a hotel booking confirmation or an invitation letter from your host. Immigration may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended
Have at least 20,000 THB (or equivalent in cash, traveler's cheques, or bank statement) available. Immigration rarely checks this for eVisa holders, but it's safer to have proof.Recommended
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)Thailand Digital Arrival Card — a free 2-minute online pre-registration at tdac.immigration.go.th. Not mandatory, but gets you through the immigration queue faster.
Optional pre-registration
Register at tdac.immigration.go.th before your flight to get a QR code that speeds up the immigration queue. It's free and takes 2 minutes — not mandatory, but saves time at the border.Register on TDACOptional
No visa on arrival for Libyan passport holders
You must have an approved eVisa before you fly. There is no way to get a visa at the airport. Airlines will check your eVisa approval before letting you board.
TDAC saves time
The Thailand Digital Arrival Card is free and optional, but completing it online before you fly can cut your immigration queue time by 10–20 minutes.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to thaievisa.go.th, create an account, fill in the application, upload your passport scan and photo, and pay the fee. Processing takes 3–5 business days. You'll receive an approval letter by email.
2
Prepare your documents
Print the eVisa approval letter. Have your passport (6+ months validity), return ticket, and first night hotel booking ready. Save digital copies on your phone as backup.
3
Arrive at a Thai airport
At Suvarnabhumi (BKK), Don Mueang (DMK), Phuket, or Chiang Mai, go to the immigration counter for 'eVisa' or 'Foreign Passport' lanes. Present your passport and approval letter. The officer will stamp you in.
4
Complete TDAC (optional)
Before you fly, fill in the free TDAC form at tdac.immigration.go.th. It pre-fills your arrival card digitally and can save you 10–20 minutes in the queue.
