Go to ceac.state.gov, select 'Nonimmigrant Visa Application', choose your location (e.g., Tunis), fill in all fields, upload a 2x2 inch photo. Save the barcode confirmation page and print it.

Pay the visa fee
Pay the $185 MRV fee online or at a designated bank in Libya. Keep the payment receipt — you'll need it to schedule the interview.

Schedule your interview
Log into the U.S. visa appointment system (ais.usvisa-info.com), select the embassy (Tunis is the closest for most Libyans), choose a date, and pay any additional appointment fee. Print the appointment letter.

Attend the interview
Arrive at the embassy on time with your passport, DS-160 confirmation, appointment letter, fee receipt, and supporting documents (employment letter, bank statements, travel itinerary). Expect fingerprinting and a short interview.

Wait for processing
After approval, your passport will be held for visa printing. Processing takes 3–10 business days. You'll receive instructions to collect your passport or have it couriered.

Enter the U.S.
