Entry requirements

Apply before travel
You need a visa to enter South Korea. Apply online at the Korea eVisa portal at least 2 weeks before departure. Processing takes 5–10 business days for most nationalities.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in South Korea. Airlines may enforce a 6-month validity rule, but immigration only requires it to cover your visit.Required

Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Incheon and Gimpo routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing your departure from South Korea within your visa validity.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a confirmed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in South Korea. Immigration may ask for this at the border, especially if you're staying more than a few days.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or bank statement
Carry at least 1,000 USD in cash or have a bank statement showing sufficient funds for your stay. Immigration officers rarely check this, but it's safer to have proof.Recommended
eVisa required — no visa on arrival
Mozambican passport holders cannot get a visa at the airport. You must apply and receive approval before you fly. Airlines check this before boarding.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in South Korea, not from when you leave. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to visa.go.kr, create an account, fill out the application form, upload your passport photo and scanned passport page, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 5-7 business days.
2
Receive and save your eVisa
You'll get an email with your eVisa approval. Download the PDF and save it on your phone. Print a copy as backup.
3
Prepare your documents for departure
Before you leave for the airport, double-check: passport valid 6+ months, eVisa approval, return ticket, and first night accommodation booking. Keep screenshots of everything.
4
