Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date from Singapore. Immigration officers at Changi check this strictly — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied entry.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Singapore
Immigration will ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket before they stamp you in. Budget airlines like Scoot and AirAsia check this at check-in too — have your booking confirmation ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host's address
Have your hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host ready. Immigration officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you're arriving without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or bank statement
Carry at least 1,000 SGD (or equivalent in cash, traveler's cheques, or a credit card statement) to cover your stay. Immigration rarely checks this for Dutch passport holders, but it's safer to have it.Recommended
SG Arrival Card (e-Service)
Digital pre-arrival declaration
Submit the SG Arrival Card online at eservices.ica.gov.sg within 3 days before your arrival. It's free and takes 5 minutes — you get a QR code that speeds up immigration clearance at Changi.Submit SG Arrival CardOptional
e-Gates available for Dutch passport holders
At Changi Airport, you can use the automated e-Gates instead of queuing at a manual counter. Just scan your passport and look at the camera — no stamp needed. This is faster and available 24/7.
Overstaying is not worth the risk
Overstaying even by a day can result in a fine of up to SGD 2,000 and a ban from re-entering Singapore. Set a reminder to leave before your 90 days are up.

What happens at the border

1
Arrival at Changi Airport
After landing at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Foreign Passports'. Join the queue for foreign visitors. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will scan your passport, take a photo, and stamp you in. The whole process usually takes 5–15 minutes.
2
e-Gate clearance (if eligible)
Dutch passport holders can use the automated e-Gates at Changi. Look for the 'Automated Clearance' lanes. Scan your passport, look at the camera, and you're through. No stamp needed — your entry is recorded digitally. This is faster than the manual counter.
3
Collect baggage and exit
After immigration, collect your checked luggage from the carousel, then proceed through Customs (green channel if nothing to declare). You're now officially in Singapore.
