Arrival declarationYou do not need to fill out any arrival form before landing.
Not required
No arrival declaration is required for entry into the UK.Not required
Apply well in advance
Processing can take 8 weeks during peak seasons (summer, Christmas). Don't book non-refundable flights or hotels until your visa is approved.

Transiting through United Kingdom

Transit visa required

Peruvian nationals generally need a Visitor in Transit visa to pass through UK border control, even if staying airside. However, if you hold a valid visa for the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or an EEA country, you may be eligible for the Transit Without Visa (TWOV) concession.

Exceptions & conditions
  • Holders of a valid visa for the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or an EEA country (with certain conditions) may transit without a visa under TWOV.
  • Holders of a valid UK visa, or a diplomatic or official passport, may be exempt.

Frequently asked questions

Standard processing takes 3–8 weeks. You can pay for priority service (5 working days) for an extra £250, or super priority service (next working day) for £1000. Check current fees at gov.uk.
No. Standard visitor visas are not extendable. You must leave before your visa expires. If you need to stay longer, you'd need to apply for a different visa type from Peru before traveling.
Immigration officers can ask for proof you can support yourself during your stay. Have bank statements or a credit card statement ready. There's no set minimum amount, but you should have enough to cover accommodation, food, and transport.
You'll receive a letter explaining the reason. Common reasons include insufficient funds, unclear travel plans, or weak ties to Peru. You can reapply — address the specific reason in your new application. There's no ban for reapplying.
No. A UK visa does not automatically allow entry to Ireland. You need a separate visa for Ireland unless you qualify for the British-Irish Visa Scheme (which currently does not include Peru). Check with the Irish embassy.
It depends. If you're transiting airside (not passing through immigration) and have a confirmed onward flight within 24 hours, you may not need a visa. But if you need to go through immigration or your flights are separate tickets, you likely need a Direct Airside Transit Visa (DATV). Check gov.uk/transit-visa.
At the UK Visa Application Centre in Lima: Av. Javier Prado Este 595, San Isidro. You must book an appointment online first. They handle biometrics and document submission.
