Electronic Travel Authorisation
Apply for your ETA-IL at israel-entry.piba.gov.il before you fly. The application is free and usually approved instantly — you get a confirmation email. Since August 2024, this is mandatory for all visa-exempt nationals, including Peruvians.Apply for ETA-ILRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for duration of stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you're in Israel. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Israeli law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier before check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Ben Gurion Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound booking ready — they may check it before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital copy of your hotel reservation, hostel booking, or a letter from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Have a bank statement, credit card, or cash showing you can cover your expenses — roughly 300–500 ILS per day. Officers almost never ask for it for short stays, but it's smart to have a screenshot on your phone.Recommended
Entry may be denied for certain travel history
If your passport shows stamps or visas from Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, or Yemen, expect extra questioning at immigration. It's not an automatic ban, but be honest about your travel. Denial is possible if the officer suspects security risks.
Keep your entry stamp safe
The entry stamp shows your allowed stay. Don't lose your passport while in Israel — replacing it without the stamp can be complicated. Take a photo of the stamp page as backup.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before you fly
Check your passport validity (6+ months from entry). Book your return ticket and first night accommodation. Save screenshots of your booking confirmations and insurance policy on your phone.
2
Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) or land border
Most visitors fly into Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control' (or 'Border Control'). Queues can be long — allow 30–60 minutes.
3
Present your passport at immigration
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask: purpose of visit, where you're staying, how long you plan to stay, and your return ticket. Answer clearly and honestly. They'll stamp your passport with a visitor entry stamp valid for up to 90 days.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There are no additional forms to fill. You're free to enter Israel.
