Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Israel ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization)This is an online pre-travel authorization, not a visa. You must have it approved before you fly.
Required for visa-exempt nationals
Peruvian citizens must obtain an ETA before travel. Apply online at the official Israeli government portal (https://interior.gov.il/en/eta) at least 72 hours before departure. The ETA costs 25 ILS (~$7 USD) and is valid for 2 years or until passport expiry, whichever comes first. Processing typically takes minutes to a few hours.Required
Passport validityIsraeli immigration will deny boarding if your passport is not valid long enough.
Must be valid for 6 months beyond your stay
Your Peruvian passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Israel. Ensure your passport does not expire within this period.Required
Blank passport pagesBorder officials need a clean page to stamp your passport.
At least 1 blank page
Your passport must have at least 1 blank page for the entry stamp. It is wise to have more than one blank page in case of additional stamps.Required
Return or onward ticketImmigration may ask to see your outbound flight details to ensure you won't overstay.
Proof of departure from Israel
You must be able to show a return or onward flight ticket proving you will leave Israel before your authorized stay ends. This is a standard immigration requirement.Required
Proof of fundsNot always asked, but having proof of funds can speed up entry and avoid issues.
Sufficient funds for your stay
Be prepared to show evidence of sufficient funds (cash, credit cards, bank statements) to cover your expenses during your time in Israel. There is no fixed amount, but you should have access to at least ~$100 USD per day of your stay.Recommended
Travel insuranceProtects you from unexpected medical bills or trip disruptions.
Recommended for medical coverage
While not mandatory, travel insurance covering medical expenses and emergencies is strongly recommended. Israel has high-quality healthcare, but treatment can be expensive for uninsured visitors.Recommended
Arrival declarationYou can skip any arrival declaration steps – they don't apply to you.
Not required for Peruvian citizens
No arrival declaration is required for Peruvian passport holders entering Israel. You do not need to fill out any additional forms upon arrival beyond the standard immigration procedures. Not required
ETA is not a visa
You're applying for an Electronic Travel Authorization, not a visa. The process is online, quick, and cheap. Don't be confused by travel agencies offering 'visa services' — you can do it yourself in minutes.
Passport validity is critical
Israeli authorities require your passport to be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. If your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding. Check your passport now, not the night before your flight.
Apply early, even though it's fast
While the ETA is usually approved within minutes, there can be occasional delays. Applying at least 72 hours ahead ensures you have time to resolve any issues. Don't wait until the last minute.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your ETA online
Go to https://interior.gov.il/en/eta and fill out the application. You'll need your passport details and an email address. Pay the 25 ILS fee (about $7 USD) with a credit/debit card. Approval is usually instant or within a few hours, but apply at least 72 hours before your flight to be safe.
2
Receive your ETA confirmation
You'll get an email with your ETA approval. Print it or save it on your phone. The ETA is linked to your passport number, so you don't need to present a physical document, but having a copy helps if there's any issue.
3
Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV)
When you land, follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' or 'Visitors'. Have your passport and ETA confirmation ready. You'll go through passport control where an officer may ask about your trip purpose, accommodation, and return ticket. Answer honestly and concisely.
4
Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport (or provide a card if you have a biometric passport). Your stay is typically allowed for up to 3 months, but the officer decides the exact duration. Keep the stamp/card safe until you leave.

Frequently asked questions

No, you don't need a traditional visa. You need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization), which is a quick online approval. It costs 25 ILS (~$7 USD) and is valid for two years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.
The ETA allows stays of up to 90 days for tourism. The exact duration is granted at the border by the immigration officer, so don't overstay.
Processing is usually minutes to a few hours, but the official recommendation is to apply at least 72 hours before your flight. This gives you buffer time if there are any delays or additional checks.
No, the ETA is not extendable. If you need to stay longer, you'd have to leave and re-enter (if you still have a valid ETA) or apply for a different visa at an Israeli embassy or consulate before your current stay expires.
You won't be allowed to board your flight to Israel. The airline checks for ETA approval before issuing a boarding pass. There is no way to get one at the airport on arrival.
Yes, the ETA is valid for multiple entries within its two-year validity period (or until your passport expires). You can leave and re-enter Israel as long as the ETA is still valid.
The ETA is automatically linked to your passport number. If you get a new passport, you'll need to apply for a new ETA with the new passport details. The old ETA won't transfer.
