Visa on arrival
Visa on arrival at Jordanian airports and land borders
Peruvian passport holders can get a single-entry visa on arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, King Hussein Bridge, and other official border crossings. The fee is 40 JOD (about $56 USD) — pay in cash in Jordanian dinars or US dollars. Have a printed hotel booking and return ticket ready; border officers often ask for both before issuing the visa.Check visa detailsRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date
Your passport needs at least two blank pages for entry and exit stamps. Jordan enforces the 6-month validity rule strictly — airlines check this before boarding. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before you travel.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers at Queen Alia Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital version on your phone ready. If you plan to exit Jordan by land, show a bus or taxi booking confirmation.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Border officers often request a printed hotel reservation or an invitation letter from a Jordanian host. Book a refundable hotel if your plans are flexible. A booking confirmation with your name and dates is enough.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Officers may ask for cash, bank statements, or a credit card to confirm you have enough money for your trip. Carry at least 500 JOD (about $700 USD) in cash or have a card with a visible balance. ATMs are widely available in Amman.Recommended
Cash only at visa counter
The visa-on-arrival fee must be paid in cash. There are ATMs in the arrivals hall, but they may charge high fees. Bring 40 JOD (or about 56 USD) in cash with you to avoid hassle.
Jordan Pass can save you money
If you plan to visit Petra, Jerash, or other major sites, consider buying a Jordan Pass online before you travel. It covers your entry visa fee (waives the 40 JOD) and includes entry to over 40 attractions. You must stay at least 3 nights in Jordan for the waiver to apply.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Jordanian airport or land border
You'll land at Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) in Amman, or arrive at a land border like the King Hussein Bridge from Israel. Follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' counters before passport control.
2
Fill out the arrival card
On the plane or at the counter, fill out a simple arrival card with your personal details, flight number, and accommodation address. Keep it with your passport.
3
Pay the visa fee at the bank counter
At the airport, go to the bank counter near the visa-on-arrival area. Pay 40 JOD (or equivalent in USD/EUR) and get a receipt. Keep this receipt — you'll hand it to the immigration officer.
4
Present documents at immigration
Hand over your passport, completed arrival card, and the payment receipt. The officer will stamp your passport and issue the visa sticker. This usually takes 2–5 minutes.
5
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There are no additional checks for most tourists. You're now free to enter Jordan.
