Filipino passport holders can visit Taiwan visa-free for up to 14 days. No visa application is needed, but you must meet a few key requirements at the border. As of 2026, this arrangement covers tourism, business, and transit.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire 14-day stay in Taiwan. Taiwan does not require 6 months of remaining validity, but some airlines may enforce their own 6-month rule — check with your carrier before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Taiwan
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight itinerary ready. This applies even for visa-free entries.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Taiwan. Officers rarely ask, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or bank statement
Have at least NT$10,000 (or equivalent in USD/credit card) available per day of stay. Immigration may ask to see proof of funds if you look underprepared.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Taiwan immigration counts the 6-month validity from your entry date, not your departure. If your passport expires within 6 months of landing, you will be refused entry — no exceptions.
No visa extension possible
The 14-day visa-free stay cannot be extended for any reason. If you need more time, apply for a visitor visa at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Manila before your trip.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you leave, gather your passport (valid 6+ months), return ticket, and first-night accommodation confirmation. Save digital copies on your phone.
2
Arrive at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) or Kaohsiung (KHH)
Most flights from the Philippines land at Taoyuan. Follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' immigration. Queue times vary — expect 15–45 minutes during peak hours.
3
Present your passport and documents
Hand your passport to the officer. They may ask for your return ticket and accommodation. Answer honestly — this is a routine check.
4
Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 14-day visa-free entry. Check the stamp says '14 days' before leaving the counter.
5
Collect luggage and proceed
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel and pass through customs. No arrival declaration form is needed for visa-free visitors.
