Qatari passport holders need an eVisa to enter Taiwan in 2026. The application is done entirely online through Taiwan's visa web portal, and approval is typically quick. Once approved, you'll have a single-entry permit valid for up to 30 days.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Taiwan eVisa
Apply for a Taiwan eVisa at the official portal before you fly. The eVisa is single-entry and valid for up to 30 days. Processing usually takes 2–3 business days, so apply at least a week ahead.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least the full duration of your stay in Taiwan. Taiwan does not require 6 months beyond departure, but airlines may enforce it — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they check this at the counter before issuing entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Taiwan. Officers rarely ask, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Have a bank statement or enough cash to cover your stay. Taiwan does not publish a fixed minimum, but showing around $300 USD per day is safe.Recommended
eVisa is single-entry only
Once you leave Taiwan, the eVisa is no longer valid. If you plan to visit Hong Kong or Macau and return, you'll need a new eVisa.
Keep your eVisa accessible offline
Print a paper copy and save the PDF on your phone. Airport Wi-Fi can be spotty, and you don't want to be stuck without the barcode at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to visawebapp.boca.gov.tw, create an account, fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 1–3 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get an email with the eVisa PDF. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. Immigration at Taoyuan Airport will scan the barcode.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
Have your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. At passport control, hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel address.
4
Clear immigration at Taoyuan Airport
Follow signs to 'Foreigners' passport control. Queue up, present your documents, and answer any questions (purpose of visit, length of stay). The officer will stamp your passport and you're in.
