Serbian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Malaysia in 2026. The eVisa covers tourism and business visits, and you must apply online before you travel.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for a Malaysia eVisa at the official Window Malaysia portal. Processing takes 1–3 working days. Print the eVisa approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration will stamp the visa into your passport on arrival.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay
Your Serbian passport needs at least 6 months of remaining validity from your date of entry into Malaysia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Malaysia
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return flight. Have a printed or digital copy of your ticket ready. If you plan to overstay, the fine is RM 30 per day (approx. 6 EUR).Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Officers may ask where you are staying. Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and contact number. This is not always checked, but having it avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or bank statement
Immigration can request proof you can support yourself during your stay. Carry at least 500 MYR (approx. 100 EUR) in cash or a recent bank statement. Credit cards are widely accepted in cities.Recommended
eVisa is not extendable
If you overstay, you'll be fined 10 MYR per day (about 2 USD) and may be banned from re-entering. Plan your exit date carefully.
Apply early
The eVisa portal can be slow, and processing times vary. Apply at least 10 days before your trip to avoid last-minute stress.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Malaysia eVisa portal (windowmalaysia.my). Create an account, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around 30–50 USD depending on processing speed). Processing takes 2–5 working days.
2
Receive and check your eVisa
You'll get an email with the eVisa PDF. Check that your name, passport number, and validity dates are correct. The eVisa is usually valid for 3 months from issue, and allows a single entry for up to 30 days.
3
Prepare your documents for travel
Print the eVisa or save it on your phone. Have your passport, return ticket, and first-night hotel booking ready. Keep them together in a folder or a phone album.
4
Arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) or other entry points
Follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' immigration. Join the queue, hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel address. Answer clearly. You'll get an entry stamp — check the date is correct before leaving the counter.
