Saudi passport holders can get a Visa on Arrival (VoA) when landing in Indonesia. This is the simplest option for tourism — just queue at the designated counter after immigration, pay the fee, and you're in. As of 2026, the VoA is valid for 30 days and can be extended once for another 30 days.

Visa on arrival
Visa on arrival
Get your visa on arrival at major Indonesian airports and seaports. Pay $35 USD in cash (exact change) at the visa-on-arrival counter before immigration. The visa is valid for 30 days and cannot be extended — if you overstay, you pay 1,000,000 IDR (~$65 USD) per day at the airport before departure.Apply onlineRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Indonesia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding. No exceptions.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa on arrival
Immigration officers at Jakarta, Bali, and other entry points routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready. If you cannot show one, you may be refused entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to have hotel booking
Immigration may ask for your hotel address or booking confirmation. Have a printed or digital copy of your first night's accommodation ready. A simple booking confirmation email works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to show sufficient cash
Carry at least $1,000 USD in cash or have a credit card with available limit. Immigration rarely checks, but if asked, show a bank statement or cash. Having $1,500 USD is safer.Recommended
Cash only at most airports
The VoA fee must be paid in Indonesian Rupiah cash. ATMs are available after immigration, but it's safer to bring IDR 500,000 from home or exchange at the airport before the counter.
Extension is possible but plan ahead
If you want to stay 60 days, you must extend the VoA at an immigration office (Kantor Imigrasi) before day 30. The process takes 3-5 working days. Don't wait until the last week.

What happens at the border

1
Land and follow signs to VoA counter
After deplaning at Jakarta (CGK), Bali (DPS), or other major airports, follow the 'Visa on Arrival' signs. Don't go straight to immigration — stop at the VoA payment counter first.
2
Pay the fee and get your receipt
Hand over your passport and IDR 500,000 cash. The officer will give you a receipt and a small sticker. Keep the receipt safe — you'll need it later.
3
Proceed to immigration
Join the 'Foreign Passport' queue. Present your passport, the VoA receipt, and your boarding pass. The officer will stamp you in for 30 days.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags and head to customs. You may be asked to fill an electronic customs declaration (online form) — do it before you queue.

Yes, you can extend it once for another 30 days. The extension costs around IDR 500,000 and must be done at an immigration office in Indonesia before your first 30 days expire. Start the process at least a week before expiry.
VoA is available at all major international airports: Jakarta (CGK), Bali (DPS), Surabaya (SUB), Medan (KNO), Makassar (UPG), and many others. It's also available at some seaports and land borders.
For stays over 60 days, you need a different visa — either a B211A Social Visa (valid up to 180 days) or a tourist visa from an Indonesian embassy before travel. The VoA cannot be extended beyond 60 days total.
Yes. Immigration officers often ask for proof of onward travel. If you don't have one, you may be denied boarding or entry. A refundable ticket or a cheap onward flight to a neighboring country works.
No. The VoA is single-entry. If you leave Indonesia and want to return, you'll need to apply for a new VoA at the airport again.
Overstays are fined IDR 1,000,000 (about SAR 250) per day, capped at a maximum of 60 days. You'll need to pay at immigration before leaving. Serious overstays can lead to deportation and bans.
