Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Georgia
Your passport needs to be valid for the full duration of your stay. Georgia does not require 6 months of validity beyond your departure date, but some airlines may enforce their own 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Georgia
Immigration officers at Tbilisi and Kutaisi airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing you leave within the 360-day visa-free limit.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
You may be asked where you are staying, especially if arriving without a pre-booked hotel. A printed reservation confirmation or a letter from a host with their address is enough.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can ask for evidence of sufficient funds. Have a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least 2,000 GEL (around €700) for a short trip.Recommended
360 days — but not a full year
The visa-free stay is 360 days, not 365. That's about 5 days short of a full year. Mark your calendar to leave before day 360 to avoid overstay penalties.
No visa, no fee, no hassle
Slovak passport holders enjoy one of the most generous visa-free policies in the world for Georgia. No application, no payment, no interview. Just show up with a valid passport.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at any Georgian port of entry
You can fly into Tbilisi International Airport (TBS), Kutaisi International Airport (KUT), or Batumi Airport (BUS). Land borders from Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia also accept Slovak passport holders visa-free. At the border, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue.
2
Present your passport and answer questions
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask: purpose of visit, length of stay, where you're staying. Answer briefly and honestly. They rarely ask for supporting documents, but have your return ticket and accommodation details ready just in case.
3
Receive entry stamp and proceed
The officer stamps your passport with the date of entry and the maximum allowed stay (360 days). No fee is charged. Collect your luggage and exit the arrivals hall. Total time: usually 2–5 minutes.
