Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa application
Apply for a visa before travel
Turkish passport holders must obtain a visa before traveling to Israel. Apply at the nearest Israeli embassy or consulate — processing takes 5–10 business days. You cannot get a visa on arrival at Ben Gurion Airport.Apply onlineRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for at least the length of your stay in Israel. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Israeli law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Israel
Immigration officers at Ben Gurion Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they check this before stamping you in.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host. Officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you're staying for more than a few days.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or a credit card ready. Immigration rarely asks for proof of funds for short visits, but it helps to have evidence of at least $500 for a week-long trip.Recommended
Visa required — apply early
Turkish passport holders cannot enter Israel without a pre-approved visa. Processing can take 2–4 weeks, so apply at least a month before your trip.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day you land in Israel, not from your departure date. Double-check before applying.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your visa online
Go to the official Israeli visa application portal (https://israel-entry.piba.gov.il). Fill in your personal details, passport info, travel dates, and upload a digital photo. Pay the fee (around 100–150 ILS depending on type). Processing takes 2–4 weeks on average.
2
Wait for visa approval
After submitting, you'll get a confirmation email. The embassy may contact you for additional documents. Once approved, you'll receive a visa document — print it and keep it with your passport.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
Before you fly, gather: your passport (valid 6+ months), printed visa, return ticket, first night hotel booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in your carry-on.
4
Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV)
At passport control, present your passport and visa. The officer may ask about your itinerary, accommodation, and funds. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport — check the stamp says the correct entry date.
