Turkish passport holders need a visa to visit India in 2026. The easiest option is the e-Visa, which you apply for online before you travel. Plan ahead — processing can take a few days.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
India requires an eVisa for Turkish passport holders. Apply at indianvisaonline.gov.in at least 4 days before departure. Fees range from $25 to $80 USD depending on visa type and duration. Approval usually arrives within 72 hours — print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have at least 6 months validity
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from India. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers at Indian airports routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward flight ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone. Airlines may also request this before issuing a boarding pass.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel bookings or invitation letter
Carry a printed copy of your hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in India. Immigration may ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient money for your stay
Have bank statements, credit cards, or cash equivalent to at least $300 USD for a short visit. Immigration rarely asks, but having proof avoids delays.Recommended
Apply early — processing can be slow
Don't wait until the last minute. e-Visa processing can take 5 business days or more during holidays. Apply at least 10 days before your flight to be safe.
e-Visa is for tourism, business, or medical visits
The e-Visa covers tourism, business, and medical treatment. If you're coming for work or study, you need a different visa from an Indian embassy.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-Visa online
Go to the official Indian e-Visa website (indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa). Fill in your details, upload a passport photo and passport scan, and pay the fee. Processing takes 3–5 business days in most cases.
2
Receive and print your e-Visa
Once approved, you'll get an email with your e-Visa. Print a copy and also save a PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and at Indian immigration.
3
Arrive at an Indian airport
e-Visa holders can enter through 30 designated airports, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. At immigration, join the 'e-Visa' queue. Have your passport, e-Visa printout, and return ticket ready.
4
Get your passport stamped
The immigration officer will check your documents, take fingerprints, and stamp your passport. You'll be allowed to stay for up to 30 days (or 60 days for tourist e-Visa). The stamp shows your entry date and allowed stay.
