Turkish passport holders can get a visa on arrival in Nepal. This is the standard entry method — no need to apply in advance. As of 2026, the process is straightforward at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and at land border crossings.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your full stay
At least 6 months validity beyond your entry date. Minimum 1 blank page for the entry stamp. Airlines may deny boarding if validity is too close.Required
Return or onward ticket
Officers check this regularly
A confirmed flight out of the country. Immigration may ask to see this — have a screenshot ready on your phone. An onward ticket from a neighbouring country also works.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel name or address
A hotel booking confirmation, or the address of where you are staying. The arrival form often asks for this. A Booking.com or Airbnb confirmation email is fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Rarely checked
Immigration officers may ask you to demonstrate sufficient funds for your stay. A credit card or bank statement usually suffices.Recommended
Cash is king at the visa counter
Card machines sometimes go down. Bring at least $30-50 USD in cash (or equivalent in EUR/GBP/NPR) to pay the visa fee. You don't want to be stuck in a queue with no way to pay.
Visa validity starts on arrival
The 15, 30, or 90-day clock starts ticking the day you land. Not the day you apply. So if you arrive on the 1st and get a 15-day visa, you must leave by the 15th.

What happens at the border

1
Fill out the arrival form
On the plane or at the airport, grab a 'Visa on Arrival' form. Fill in your details — passport info, flight number, hotel address. Keep it simple.
2
Go to the visa counter
After landing at Tribhuvan International Airport, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival'. There are multiple counters. Join the queue, hand over your form, passport, and a passport photo. Pay the fee (cash or card).
3
Get your visa sticker
The officer will process your application and stick a visa in your passport. Check the validity dates before walking away. Then proceed to immigration for the entry stamp.
4
Proceed to immigration
After getting the visa sticker, go to the immigration counters. Show your passport with the new visa. They'll stamp you in. Done.

Frequently asked questions

As of 2026, the fee is $30 USD for a 15-day visa, $50 for 30 days, and $125 for 90 days. You can pay in USD, EUR, GBP, or NPR. Credit cards are accepted but cash is more reliable.
No, the visa on arrival is not extendable. If you need to stay longer, you'd have to leave and re-enter, or apply for a different visa type before travel. Plan your stay accordingly.
Not always — the immigration officer may take your photo digitally. But it's smart to carry 1-2 passport photos just in case. Saves you from having to use a photo booth at the airport.
The same visa on arrival process applies at major land borders like Kodari (from Tibet) and Sunauli (from India). The fee and requirements are identical. Just fill out the form and pay at the border post.
No, Nepal does not offer an e-visa for Turkish passport holders. The visa on arrival is the standard method. There's no online application to do beforehand.
You will be denied boarding by the airline and denied entry by Nepali immigration. No exceptions. Renew your passport before traveling.
Not for the visa, but it's strongly recommended. Medical evacuation from trekking areas can cost thousands. A basic policy covering accidents and hospital stays is cheap insurance against a bad situation.
