Turkish passport holders can get a visa on arrival in Cambodia. No need to apply in advance. Just show up at the airport or land border with your passport and the fee in cash. This has been the case since 2025 and remains the standard procedure in 2026.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa on arrival
Visa on arrival
Get a visa on arrival at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or Sihanoukville airports. Pay $30 USD in cash (exact change preferred) — have a passport photo ready. The form is handed out on the plane or at the visa counter before immigration.Apply onlineRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date
Your Turkish passport must have at least 6 months of remaining validity from the day you enter Cambodia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa on arrival
Immigration officers routinely ask for proof of a flight out of Cambodia. Have a printed or digital copy of your onward ticket ready — a bus or boat ticket out overland may not be accepted.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to have on hand
Officers rarely ask for a hotel booking, but having one printed or on your phone speeds things up if questioned. A hostel or guesthouse confirmation works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to have on hand
You are not required to show bank statements, but carrying at least $500 USD in cash or a card with available credit avoids any awkward questions at the visa counter.Recommended
Cash only — no cards accepted
The visa-on-arrival counter only takes US dollars in cash. No credit cards, no Cambodian riel. Bring exact change if possible — $30 for tourist, $35 for ordinary. They rarely have change for large bills.
Visa on arrival is single entry only
The visa on arrival is valid for one entry only. If you leave Cambodia (even for a day trip to Thailand or Vietnam), you'll need to get a new visa when you come back. There's no re-entry permit.
E-visa is also an option — but not needed
You can apply for an e-visa online before you travel, but it's not necessary for Turkish passport holders. The visa on arrival is faster and cheaper ($30 vs $36+ for e-visa). Only use the e-visa if you want to skip the queue at the airport.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the visa-on-arrival counter
After you land at Phnom Penh (PNH), Siem Reap (REP), or Sihanoukville (KOS), follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' before you go through immigration. At land borders like Poipet or Bavet, the counter is right before the passport control booth.
2
Fill out the application form
Grab a visa application form from the counter. Fill in your details — name, passport number, arrival flight, hotel address. Keep it simple. If you don't have a hotel yet, write 'TBD' or the name of a hostel you plan to use.
3
Submit your documents and pay
Hand over your passport, the completed form, your passport photo (if you have one), and the cash fee. The officer will process it and give you a receipt or tell you to wait nearby.
4
Wait for your visa to be printed
It usually takes 5–15 minutes. They'll call your name or just hand back your passport with the visa sticker inside. Check the sticker — make sure your name, passport number, and validity dates are correct.
5
Proceed to immigration
Walk to the immigration booth with your passport (now with the visa sticker). The officer will stamp you in. Keep the arrival card they give you — you'll need it when you leave.

Frequently asked questions

A tourist visa (30 days, single entry) costs $30 USD. An ordinary visa (30 days, single entry) costs $35 USD. Both must be paid in cash — US dollars only. No credit cards, no other currencies.
No — the visa on arrival is not extendable. If you want to stay longer than 30 days, you need to leave the country and re-enter, or apply for a different visa type (like an E-class visa) at a Cambodian embassy before you travel.
Yes, at most major land border crossings: Poipet (from Thailand), Bavet (from Vietnam), Cham Yeam (from Thailand), and others. The process is the same as at airports — fill a form, pay in cash, wait a few minutes. Some smaller crossings may not offer it, so stick to the main ones.
You might be asked to show proof of onward travel at the visa counter. If you can't, they may still issue the visa, but it's a risk. Best to have a cheap onward ticket or a bus/boat booking out of Cambodia. A screenshot on your phone works.
Not always — many counters now take your photo digitally at the booth. But having one (4x6 cm, white background) can speed things up if the system is down or the officer asks. Better to bring one just in case.
No. The rule is strict — your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. If it's less, you'll be denied boarding by the airline or refused entry at immigration. Renew your passport before you travel.
Not for the visa on arrival. But it's strongly recommended — medical costs in Cambodia can be high for serious issues, and evacuation to Bangkok or Singapore is expensive if needed. Get a policy that covers medical evacuation.
