Visa on arrival
Visa on arrival
Taiwan passport holders can get a visa on arrival at Queen Alia International Airport and other land borders. The visa costs 40 JOD (about $56 USD) for single entry, valid for 30 days. Have exact cash in Jordanian dinars ready — the counter does not give change in foreign currency.Apply onlineRequired
Valid passport
Passport validity
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date in Jordan. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at the border. A printed itinerary or a digital copy on your phone works — just have it ready before you reach the counter.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a hotel confirmation or a host's invitation letter ready. Officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Financial means
Carry at least 500 JOD ($700 USD) in cash or have a credit card statement showing available funds. Immigration rarely checks this for short stays, but it helps if questioned.Recommended
Cash only for visa on arrival
The visa counter at Queen Alia Airport and all land borders accepts only cash — no credit or debit cards. Bring 40 JOD (or about 56 USD) in exact change to avoid delays.
Visa on arrival is single-entry only
If you leave Jordan for any reason (even a day trip to Petra from Israel), you'll need to pay the 40 JOD fee again to re-enter. Plan your itinerary accordingly.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Queen Alia International Airport (AMM)
After deplaning, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' counters before passport control. Join the queue, hand over your passport and 40 JOD. The officer will issue a visa sticker and stamp you in. The whole process takes 5-10 minutes if the line is short.
2
Proceed to passport control
With the visa sticker in your passport, go to the passport control booth. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel booking. Answer clearly and you'll be through in under 2 minutes.
3
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually no customs declaration for personal items. Exit into the arrivals hall.
