Tanzanian passport holders can get a visa on arrival at all Cambodian international airports and land borders. This is the standard entry method — no need to apply in advance. As of 2026, the process is straightforward but requires a few specific documents ready at immigration.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply at evisa.gov.kh for a tourist eVisa ($30 USD). Processing takes 3 working days. You can also get a visa on arrival at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or Sihanoukville airports for the same $30 USD — bring cash in US dollars and a passport photo.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your Tanzanian passport needs at least 6 months of validity from your entry date into Cambodia. Have at least one blank page for the visa sticker.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Cambodia
Immigration officers routinely ask for a flight out of Cambodia within your visa validity (30 days for visa on arrival). A printed itinerary or e-ticket works.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host address
Have a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and phone number. Officers rarely ask, but it speeds things up if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry at least $500 USD in cash or have a bank statement showing available funds. Officers almost never ask, but it's a legal requirement.Recommended
Bring USD cash — no cards accepted
The visa-on-arrival counter only takes US dollars cash. ATMs are after immigration. Bring $30–$35 in small bills. Change is often given in a mix of USD and Cambodian riel.
E-visa can save time at busy airports
If you're arriving at Phnom Penh or Siem Reap during peak season (November–February), the visa-on-arrival queue can be 30–60 minutes. An e-visa lets you go straight to passport control. Apply at evisa.gov.kh.

What happens at the border

1
Fill out the visa-on-arrival form
On the plane or at the airport immigration counter, grab an arrival card and visa application form. Fill in your details — passport number, flight, hotel address. Keep your passport photo handy to attach.
2
Queue at the Visa on Arrival counter
At Phnom Penh or Siem Reap airports, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' before passport control. Hand over your form, passport, photo, and $30 cash. The officer will process and give you a receipt.
3
Pay and collect your visa sticker
Wait a few minutes — they'll call your name or number. Pay the fee (exact USD preferred). They'll stick the visa into your passport. Double-check the validity dates before walking away.
4
Proceed to passport control
Join the main immigration queue. Present your passport with the new visa sticker, arrival card, and boarding pass. The officer may ask about your return ticket or hotel — have them ready.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim. Then walk through customs (usually nothing to declare). You're in Cambodia.
