Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for your entire stay in Argentina. No minimum validity period beyond your departure date is required by law, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Argentina
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at Ezeiza and other entry points. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight booking ready — a refundable ticket works if your plans are flexible.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation, Airbnb receipt, or a letter of invitation from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays at immigration.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Have a bank statement, credit card, or cash equivalent to roughly $50–100 USD per day of your stay. Officers almost never check this for visa-free visitors, but it's a legal requirement on paper.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Argentina. Airlines check this before boarding. If your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding — no exceptions.
No visa, but have your documents ready
Even though you don't need a visa, immigration officers may ask for proof of onward travel and accommodation. Keep digital copies on your phone or printed copies in your carry-on.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before the flight
Check your passport validity (6+ months from arrival). Print or save on your phone: return ticket, first night hotel booking, and travel insurance. Also get a local eSIM or SIM if you want data immediately.
2
Arrive at Ezeiza or other airport
At Buenos Aires Ezeiza (EZE) or other international airports, follow signs to 'Migraciones' (Immigration). There are separate queues for Argentine citizens and foreigners. Join the 'Extranjeros' line.
3
Present your passport to the officer
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask: purpose of visit, length of stay, where you're staying, and your return ticket. Answer briefly and honestly. They'll stamp your passport with the entry date and allowed stay (usually 90 days).
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually a 'nothing to declare' green channel if you have no restricted items. Then you're free to exit.

Frequently asked questions

No, the visa-free stay is not extendable. You must leave Argentina before the 90 days are up. Overstaying can result in fines and future entry bans. If you need to stay longer, you'd need to apply for a proper visa at an Argentine consulate before travel.
You'll likely be denied boarding by the airline or entry by immigration. Renew your passport before traveling. The 6-month validity is strictly enforced.
Yes, any onward ticket out of Argentina works. It can be a flight to another country, not necessarily back to Ukraine. Just make sure it's booked before you arrive.
It's not mandatory for entry, but it's strongly recommended. A basic policy covering medical emergencies and repatriation costs around $30–50 for a 2-week trip. Without it, a hospital visit could cost you hundreds of dollars out of pocket.
No. You need a valid international passport (biometric or older style) with at least 6 months validity. Internal passports are not accepted for international travel.
You'll be fined when you leave. The fine is calculated per day overstayed, and can be several hundred USD. You may also be banned from re-entering Argentina for a period. Always leave on time.
No, there is no electronic arrival declaration required for Ukrainian passport holders. You just show your passport at immigration.
