Mexico entry requirements for Ukraine passport holders
Ukrainian passport holders need an electronic visa (e-visa) to enter Mexico for tourism or business. The application is completed online before travel, and the visa is electronically linked to your passport. Processing typically takes 3–5 business days, so apply well in advance of your departure.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Mexico e-Visa (Sistema de Autorización Electrónica – SAE)Without this pre-approved electronic visa, you will not be allowed to board your flight to Mexico. Apply online before travel | Ukrainian citizens must obtain an electronic authorization (SAE) before flying to Mexico. Apply at least 30 days before departure; the SAE is valid for up to 30 days from the date of issue and allows a single entry for stays up to 180 days. You must present the printed or digital SAE confirmation at check-in and to Mexican immigration. | Required |
| Passport validityMexican authorities require a passport that won't expire soon after your arrival. At least 6 months beyond entry | Your Ukrainian passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended date of entry into Mexico. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before applying for the SAE. | Required |
| Blank passport pagesThe immigration officer needs a clean page to stamp your passport. At least 1 blank page | Your passport must have at least 1 blank page for the entry stamp. Ensure no pages are damaged or torn. | Required |
| Return or onward ticketMexican immigration may ask to see that you have plans to leave the country. Proof of exit from Mexico | You must show a confirmed return or onward flight ticket to a country other than Mexico, proving you will leave before your authorized stay ends. The ticket must be in your name and match your travel dates. | Required |
| Proof of fundsImmigration officers may ask how you'll support yourself during your visit. Sufficient money for your stay | Be prepared to show evidence of sufficient funds for your stay, such as bank statements, credit cards, or cash. The amount is not fixed but should cover accommodation, food, and other expenses for your planned duration. | Recommended |
| Accommodation detailsShowing where you'll stay makes your entry smoother. Hotel booking or host invitation | Have a confirmed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Mexico, including their contact information and address. This helps demonstrate your travel plans. | Recommended |
| Arrival declaration (Forma Migratoria Múltiple – FMM)You don't need to worry about this extra form – the SAE covers it. Not required for SAE holders | As an SAE holder, you do not need to fill out a separate arrival declaration form. The SAE itself serves as your entry authorization, and the immigration officer will issue your FMM upon arrival. | Not required |
