Ukrainian passport holders need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) to enter Israel, which is quick and easy to obtain online. The ETA costs about 25 ILS (~$7 USD) and is valid for two years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. You must apply at least 72 hours before your flight, though approval often comes within minutes.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Israel ETA (eVisa)You must have an approved ETA before you fly to Israel.
Apply online before travel
Ukraine passport holders must obtain an approved ETA (electronic travel authorization) before boarding. Apply at the official Israeli government portal (https://interior.gov.il/en/eta) at least 72 hours before departure. The fee is 25 ILS (~$7 USD). The ETA is valid for 2 years or until passport expiry, whichever comes first.Required

At least 1 blank page
Your passport must contain at least 1 blank visa/entry stamp page for the Israeli border officer to stamp upon arrival.Required

Proof of departure from Israel
Immigration may ask to see a confirmed return or onward ticket showing you will leave Israel before your ETA or visa-free period expires. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Required
Proof of fundsIt's wise to carry proof that you can support yourself financially while in Israel.
Sufficient for your stay
Although not always requested, be prepared to show evidence of sufficient funds (cash, credit cards, bank statements) to cover your accommodation and expenses during your stay in Israel.Recommended
Arrival declarationYou do not need to fill out any additional arrival form.
Not required
No separate arrival declaration is required for Ukraine passport holders entering Israel. The ETA serves as your electronic authorization. Not required
Apply early — don't rely on instant approval
While the ETA is often approved in minutes, the official guidance says to apply at least 72 hours before departure. If you apply too close to your flight and there's a delay, you'll miss your trip.
ETA is valid for 2 years
Once approved, your ETA is valid for multiple entries for two years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. If you renew your passport, you'll need a new ETA.
Overstaying is serious
The ETA is not extendable. Overstaying even a day can result in fines, deportation, and a ban from re-entering Israel. Keep track of your entry date and leave before 90 days are up.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your ETA online
Go to https://interior.gov.il/en/eta and fill out the application. You'll need your passport details and a valid email. Pay the 25 ILS fee with a credit card. Approval is usually emailed within minutes, but apply at least 72 hours before your flight to be safe.
2
Check in for your flight
At the airport, show your passport and the ETA approval email (printed or on your phone). The airline will verify your ETA before issuing a boarding pass. If you don't have it, you won't be allowed to fly.
3
Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV)
After landing, follow signs to passport control. Ukrainian passport holders with an approved ETA typically go through the regular foreign passport queue. Have your passport and ETA approval ready. The officer may ask about your plans, so be ready to state your purpose and length of stay.
4
Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a date of entry. This is your authorization to stay, usually up to 90 days. Keep the stamp safe — you'll need it when you leave.

Frequently asked questions

No, you don't need a traditional visa. You need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization), which is a quick online approval. It costs 25 ILS (~$7 USD) and is valid for two years or until your passport expires.
The ETA allows stays of up to 90 days per visit. It's valid for multiple entries during its two-year validity, but each stay must not exceed 90 days.
Apply at least 72 hours before your flight. While approval often comes in minutes, the system recommends that buffer. If you apply too late, you risk being denied boarding.
If your ETA is denied, you'll need to apply for a visa at an Israeli embassy or consulate. This is rare for Ukrainian citizens, but if it happens, contact the nearest Israeli diplomatic mission for guidance.
No, the ETA is not extendable. If you want to stay longer, you'd need to leave Israel and re-enter, but that's not guaranteed to reset your 90-day allowance. Overstaying can lead to fines or a ban.
Yes, it's strongly recommended. Immigration officers may ask for proof of onward travel. If you don't have a return or onward ticket, you could be questioned and potentially denied entry.
No. The ETA is obtained online before you travel, not at the airport. There is no visa-on-arrival process for Ukrainian passport holders. You must have the ETA approved before boarding your flight.
