Kenya entry requirements for Ukraine passport holders
Ukrainian passport holders need an e-visa to enter Kenya. You can apply online before you travel — it's a straightforward process that takes a few days, and you'll need to show the approved e-visa at immigration on arrival in Nairobi or Mombasa.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Kenya e-VisaYou need to get this online visa approval before you fly; it is not available on arrival. Apply online before travel | Ukrainian citizens must obtain an e-Visa before arriving in Kenya. Apply at the official e-Visa portal (https://etakenya.go.ke/) at least a few days before departure. The e-Visa is single-entry and not extendable. | Required |
| Passport validityCheck your passport expiry date — if it is less than 6 months away, renew it before traveling. At least 6 months remaining | Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended date of entry into Kenya. | Required |
| Blank passport pagesMake sure there is a completely empty page in your passport for the immigration officer to stamp. At least 1 blank page | Your passport must have at least 1 blank page for the entry stamp. | Required |
| Return or onward ticketImmigration may ask to see your outbound flight booking — have it ready. Proof of departure | You must hold a confirmed return or onward flight ticket showing you will leave Kenya before your e-Visa expires. | Required |
| Proof of sufficient fundsHave a recent bank statement or enough cash to show you can support yourself while in Kenya. For your stay | You should be able to show evidence of sufficient funds (e.g., cash, bank statement, or credit card) to cover your expenses during your stay in Kenya. | Required |
| Yellow fever vaccination certificateEven if not required for direct travel from Ukraine, it is wise to have the certificate if you have recently visited any African or South American country with yellow fever. If arriving from an endemic country | A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if you are arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. Ukraine is not currently on the endemic list, but carry your certificate if you have been in such a country within the last 6 days. | Recommended |
| Travel insuranceTravel insurance protects you if you get sick or have an accident while abroad. Recommended coverage | Although not mandatory for visa approval, comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses and trip interruption is strongly recommended for all visitors to Kenya. | Recommended |
| Arrival declarationYou do not need to fill out any extra online arrival form — just your e-Visa and passport. Not required | Kenya does not require a separate arrival declaration form for Ukrainian citizens at this time. | Not required |

Transiting through Kenya
All transit passengers, even those staying airside, must obtain a transit eTA before travel. It is valid for a single entry and allows a maximum stay of 72 hours.
- Diplomatic or official passport holders may be exempt.
- Passengers with a confirmed onward ticket and no checked luggage may still need the eTA; no exception for short connections.
